Olopatadine 0.2%

Sterile & Pyrogen Free Eye Drops

Composition

OPT Sterile Eye Drops: Each mL contains Olopatadine Hydrochloride USP equivalent to Olopatadine 2 mg.

Preservative: Product is self preserved.

Pharmacology

Olopatadine is an antihistamine with mast cell stabilizing properties. It inhibits histamine and prevents mast cell degranulation.

Indications

Ocular itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis.

Dosage & Administration

Instill one drop in the affected eye(s) once daily.

Instructions for Use

• Wash hands before use.
• Do not touch the dropper tip.
• Tilt head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid.
• Instill one drop into the affected eye.
• Close eyes gently for a few seconds.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to the drug or any ingredients in the formulation.

Side Effects

The most common side effects have been headache and eye pain.

Warnings & Precautions

• To avoid contamination of the dropper tip and solution, care should be taken not to touch the eyelids or surrounding areas with the dropper tip.
• Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
• Remove contact lenses before use and wait at least 10 minutes before reinsertion.

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation

Use during pregnancy and lactation only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk.

Storage

Store below 30°C temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
